We need a dedicated pain unit at PMH lead by a specialist in children’s pain.
I recently made a speech about this at the Health Consumers’ Council WA.

Thanks Dale and Tracie for your encouraging comments. I’m feeling more determined than ever. Here is my rant … It is the unfairness that gets to me. How can we possibly have a system that offers one level of pain service to adults and so little for children and teenagers. The other problem is that the very few services that do exist are not co-ordinated. This means that parents coming into the WA health system looking for assistance for their children face a messy patchwork set of people and services. These resources are as difficult to find as they are to get access to once you’ve found them. Kids are suffering because they aren’t in front of the right people at the right time. It must change. It will change. We’ll will make it change.
